Handwashing

Mrs. Niles taught our class how to properly wash our hands (or paws) today.  She told us how important it is to wash our hands to get rid of germs and help keep us healthy.  We should wash our hands before we eat, after using the bathroom, and whenever we sneeze or blow our noses.  Here are the steps she taught us to follow whenever washing our hands.
  • Take one squirt of soap
  • Rub your hands together to spread around the soap (sing the handwashing song to know how long to rub your hands together--see song below)
  • Rinse your hands with water
  • Take 1 paper towel to dry your hands
This sign is posted near our sink to help us remember these steps.

Practice this song at home and help your child sing it whenever they wash their hands.   It goes to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."  Happy Handwashing!
