Today was a great first day of school! I was so excited to see everyone again. We learned all about our classroom, such as where to find different supplies, how to organize the library books in our classroom and where some of the different center activities that we can play with are. Everyone in our class has a different job each week. Some jobs are the Calendar/Weather person, the messenger, scrap patrol, and paper towel helper. See if your child knows what their weekly job is this week. We learned a new song called "Here We Are Together" that had all of our names in it (even mine). Mrs. Niles read us a great story called, First Day Jitters. In this book, we learned about how even teachers are nervous about the first day of school. Although I was excited to start school, I was nervous too. Kindergarten is like preschool in some ways, but different in other ways. We went to our first specialist today, which was fun! Half of the class went to PE and the other half had Art. I can't wait to come back to school tomorrow!
