Today was our first day going to the computer lab. Mrs. Niles told us that every Monday we would be going to the computer lab after lunch. In computers, we would learn different computer programs and games that would practice both literacy and math skills we were learning. Today we learned an online website called Starfall and explored the ABC section. On this section, when we touched a letter, it would show us different pictures that began with that sound and it showed us how the word for each picture looked. Sometimes the picture would "come alive" and something on the screen would sing, dance or move around in some way. This was my first time using the computer so Mrs. Niles needed to show me how to click the mouse correctly. Sometimes I pressed the wrong side of the mouse and it wouldn't work. I'm sure with more practice it will become easier. We used headphones so we could hear the sounds without disturbing the other kids. I can't wait to come back to computers next week.
