Last Thursday our class got to go to a special showing of "Curious Creatures." Thanks to the PTA, all of the preschool and kindergarten classes at the Capuano got to experience this activity. We met with another kindergarten class in the gym. A special company (known as Curious Creatures) brought many exciting animals for us to learn about and even pet or hold. Some of the animals that visited were a chinchilla, hedgehog, snake, tree frog, baby alligator, skunk, bunny, turtle, tarantula, and lizard. The chinchilla was definitely one of the favorite animals in our class. We learned that the chinchilla likes to take a bath in a pile of dust. I was impressed with how willing and brave the students were to get real close to some of the animals. We returned to our classroom and did some journal writing about which animal(s) we liked the best and why. Ask your child which animals they got to pet or hold and which ones were their favorites. Here are some pictures from Curious Creatures.
