Last week we learned about the letter Bb. We started the week by brainstorming a big list of Bb words. We learned a song about two best friends named Bubba and Buddy who were bears. The children got to bring in their teddy bears from home to share for show and tell. They did some special writing about their bears in which they needed to "describe" their bears and write what they liked about them. These bears are on display in our classroom.
We ended the week with a Bear Bingo game and a Teddy Bear Picnic. It was such a nice day on Friday that we got to have our picnic and enjoy our snack out in the school yard.
The children were also asked to bring in a baby picture to show their
classmates. We spent some time during the week talking about the differences between
babies and children, such as things that babies could and could not do
and things that children can do that babies can not They then did a
writing piece about when they were babies. I am really impressed with how far the children have grown as writers this year. They are utilizing the steps that "Good Writers" do to help them when writing their sentences. These pieces will be sent
home this week.
We had a blast last week!
